Andrei Sakharov monument was opened in Sarov on May 21, 2021.

The ceremony was attended by Gleb NIKITIN (Governor of N.Novgorod region), Alexey LIKHACHEV (CEO of Rosatom), Alexander SERGEEV (President of the Russian Academy of Sciences and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of The Andrei Sakharov Science Foundation), Valentin KOSTYUKOV (Director of the Russian Federal Nuclear Center), Radiy ILKAEV (Honorary Science Head of the Russian Federal Nuclear Center), Marina SAKHAROVA-LIBERMAN (the granddaughter of Andrei Sakharov and the Trustee of The Andrei Sakharov Science Endowment Fund).
